Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin – One of the biggest impact trades so far in March has been Anquan Boldin’s trade to Baltimore Ravens. Ravens were in dire need of depth at wide receiver for their young quarterback. The Ravens have Donte Stallworth, Anquan Boldin, and hopefully Derrick Mason soon enough. Joe Flacco will also be able to dump off passes to Ray Rice or hit one of his many talented WR’s and this makes Flacco a wonderful 4th or 5th round draft target. I was able to snag Flacco in the fourth round of my 16 team expert league draft (yes, I am already in a draft), so I think in a 12 team league you will not have a problem getting him in the 5th round of your draft. Boldin’s value will remain consistent and I am certain he will have no problem being a top 20 WR for 2010 and should be targeted in the 3rd round of your draft.
Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte and Chester Taylor – I was so bummed to see Chester Taylor go the the Chicago Bears as his value remains the same with this trade; I was hoping that he would end up finding a starting job somewhere in the NFL, but will play second fiddle to Matt Forte. Matt Forte’s value drops with this acquisition and I wouldn’t recommend reaching early for Forte. Chester Taylor will be a solid PPR RB and that’s about as far as it goes for Taylor. Adrian Peterson’s value rises with this trade and he pushes for the number one pick of your fantasy football draft. If you have the first pick of the draft in 2010 you will be hard pressed to find a better pick than AP. Most are saying Chris Johnson is the #1 pick of the 2010, but I would recommend AP over Johnson in 2010.
Justin Fargas, Darren McFadden, and Michael Bush – Justin Fargas failed his physical and was dropped by the Oakland Raiders. The value of Darren McFadden and Michael Bush rise with the release of Fargas. Keep an eye on where Fargas goes and he could be a great last round pick of your draft. I think McFadden’s value goes up, but Michael Bush’s value goes up dramatically and should be the goal line back in Oakland for 2010. I recommend targeting Bush in the later rounds of your draft for a solid bye-week filler.
Nate Burleson, Calvin Johnon and Matthew Stafford – Nate Burleson rolls into Detroit and this will raise the value of Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. Dynasty leaguers should target Stafford as a back-up QB and Calvin Johnson will absolutely be a top 10 WR for 2010 and is worth a 2nd round pick in your fantasy drafts.
Leon Washington, Shonn Greene, and Thomas Jones - With the release of Thomas Jones in New York and Leon Washington being shopped in trades this raises the value of Shonn Greene who becomes a solid 2nd round pick for 2010 and a great pick for dynasty leaguers. New York is a run first offense so of Leon and Shonn are the two backs for 2010 both are going to be great picks for 2010.
